Kern County Supervisors Recognize Local Service, Approve Food Drive and JobFest, and Address Community Health Initiatives

On October 21, 2025, the Kern County Board of Supervisors held a regular meeting in Kern County, California. All five supervisors—Phillip Peters, Chris Parlier, Jeff Flores, David Couch, and Chairwoman Leticia Perez—were present. The agenda included employee recognitions, grant approvals, and public health updates.

The Board adopted resolutions to honor two retiring county employees. Matt Smith, from the General Services Division, was recognized for 39 years of service. Brenna Viskovic, from the Department of Human Services, was acknowledged for 30 years of service. The Board also presented a Certificate of Recognition to Pastor Victor Perez for 50 years of ministry in the community.

The Board proclaimed November and December 2025 as ‘Kern County Cares Canned Food Drive Months.’ This encourages community participation in food collection.
