BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The atmospheric river impacting the Pacific Northwest this weekend isn’t expected to move as far south as our area, as high pressure positioned across the Pacific to our southwest will act to block that possibility. The increasing pressure gradient, or difference in atmospheric pressure, between the opposing weather systems will keep winds in the forecast from the desert, to the mountains, and through the Kern River Valley. It should also be breezy across the South Valley as well, along with cooler temperatures on Sunday.
As we take a look ahead at the new week, the weather pattern looks locally quiet and it’s likely that October will conclude without any more rainfall for our area. That’s okay though as the 0.90 inches we did pick up this month has…..
