Coroner identifies man found shot to death in field near Buttonwillow

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a man was found shot to death in a field west of Bakersfield last week.

The coroner identified the man as Hector Manuel Prado Jr., 40, of Wasco.

Prosecutors present graphic images of injuries to Genesis Mata’s body at preliminary hearing

Prado’s body was found in a field southwest of West Lerdo Highway and Wildwood Road at around 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 23.

Officials said Prado died of multiple gunshot wounds and determined the manner of death as homicide.
