Lamont, CA – Deputies in Kern County arrested two suspects after uncovering a $7,000 bank theft and multiple firearms during a search in Lamont this week, authorities said.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Lamont Substation were dispatched on October 24, 2025, to investigate a grand theft at the Self-Help Federal Credit Union in Lamont. Investigators identified Ailyn Mendez, 24, as the suspect accused of stealing more than $7,000 from bank members’ funds. Deputies obtained a warrant for her arrest and searched her residence days later.
