CAPK to hold open distribution sites for SNAP recipients and federal government employees amid shutdown

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Community Action Partnership of Kern is having multiple food distribution sites in Kern County for SNAP recipients and federal government employees amid the ongoing government shutdown.

Bakersfield

From Nov. 3 to Nov. 7, CalFresh recipients can receive food at the Kern County Fairgrounds located at 1142 S P St. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

From Nov. 3 to Nov. 8, federal government employees can receive food at CAPK’s food bank which is located at 520 Washington St. from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Ridgecrest

On Nov. 4, both CalFresh recipients and federal government employees can receive food at the Desert Empire fairgrounds located at 520 S Richmond Road. The distribution will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Delano

CalFresh and federal government employees are able to receive food at Memorial Park which is located at 110 S Lexington St Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Taft

CalFresh and federal government employees can receive food at Franklin Park which is located at 281 E Cedar St. on Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Mojave

CalFresh recipients and federal government employees can receive food from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 7. The location is to be determined.

Arvin

CalFresh recipients and federal government employees can receive food on Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Arvin High School which is located at 900 Varsity Rd.

To donate, non-perishable foods are accepted at CAPK’s food bank which is located at 520 Washington St., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m…
