BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Adventist Health Bakersfield announced a free lunch and educational event in November to raise awareness about lung cancer.
The “Lunch and Learn” event is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21. It is set to take place on the second floor of the “Be Brilliant” Conference Room at 1524 27th St., according to organizers.
Raymond Andreas, RN, BSN, CTTS, with the Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center will share information about the following topics, according to Adventist Health:
- Why smoking is still the leading cause of lung cancer and what we can do about it
- What lung cancer screening entails and why it’s beneficial
- How an active lifestyle, changing habits and a positive outlook can improve our health
