Jury deadlocks in trial of man accused of evading police

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A mistrial was declared after a Kern County jury failed to reach verdicts in the trial of a man accused of leading Bakersfield police officers on a chase and resisting arrest.

Jurors deadlocked last week on a felony evading charge and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and hit and run in the trial of Anthony Dwayne Scott, according to a Kern County Public Defender’s Office release.

Scott is scheduled for retrial next month. He faces six years in prison if convicted…
