Series of storms to hit Kern County as weather pattern remains active

Following one of the most impressive storms to hit our area in quite some time, the atmosphere shows no signs of slowing down.

You would think we skipped a couple of months and ended up right in the heart of mid-winter, when the storm track is usually the most active for our region. A storm parade of sorts is aiming at our part of the world. The next trough to drop out of the Gulf of Alaska is heading for California, set to arrive across Kern County on Monday. Until then, some showers will still be possible as the weekend system finally begins to move on out, before the next one is set to take its place.

This next area of low pressure is a much faster mover and could be in and out within a fraction of the time of the previous one. Still, this next storm will only serve to further add to our already extremely impressive rainfall totals, far surpassing what is deemed “normal” for this time of year around here.

As we take a look toward the latter part of the week, yet another system may be in line sometime around Thursday time.

The days of quiet weather seem to be over, at least for now…
