BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Attorneys on Tuesday said they’re ready for trial in the case of a woman whose son died after being left in a car on a hot June day, but they’ll have to wait a little longer.
Judge Marcus Cuper said other cases are scheduled ahead of the trial for Maya Hernandez, and she likely won’t be assigned a courtroom until next month. At prosecutor Stephanie Taconi’s request, Cuper set the next hearing for Monday.
Hernandez, 20, is charged with murder, involuntary manslaughter and child abuse. She’s accused of leaving her sons, 1 and 2, in a Toyota Corolla Hybrid on June 29 while she got a lip filler injection at a medical spa…
