Preliminary hearing in 8-year-old’s death postponed to January

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Andres Serna, accused of driving drunk in a crash that killed an 8-year-old boy, won’t have a preliminary hearing until mid-January at the earliest.

Serna’s public defender, Autumn Paine, said she needs time to review the “large amount” of evidence compiled in the case and conduct her own investigation.

Judge Colette M. Humphrey rescheduled the preliminary hearing — at which a judge decides if there’s sufficient evidence for the case to proceed — for Jan. 15…
