Parole denied for man convicted of 2011 home invasion robbery in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The California Board of Parole Hearings denied parole to one of the men who was convicted of a home invasion robbery in Bakersfield back in 2011.

According to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office, on November 18, 2025, BPH found that 38-year-old Humberto Guizar-Figueroa continues to pose a current and unreasonable risk to public safety.

The DA’s office said on June 6, 2011, Humberto Guizar-Figueroa and his brother, Vicente Guizar-Figueroa, with guns drawn, entered the home of a business owner who was home with his wife and daughter.

The family was held at gunpoint as Humberto threatened to shoot the family dog if they did not keep quiet. The DA’s office said the business owner was ordered to drive them to his business while a third unidentified man held his family hostage…
