BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Over the objection of prosecutors, a man accused of driving drunk in a crash at Hageman Road and Fruitvale Avenue entered a plea with the court in which he faces five years in prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Deonicio Gallegos-Ramirez on Monday made what’s called an “open plea” — pleading no contest to all charges in the hope the court sentences him to a lesser punishment than what’s sought by prosecutors.
