BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — After over a year, the teenager accused of shooting and killing a 15-year-old boy at The Marketplace was arrested. This comes after the DA’s Office initially determined there was insufficient evidence and referred it back to the police.
The Kern County District Attorney’s Office said on November 17, 2025, DA’s investigators and investigators with the Bakersfield Police Department executed a warrant and arrested Albert Briseno Jr. in connection with the murder of Prince Michael Banner.
The Bakersfield Police Department said on November 10, 2024, at around 8:30 p.m., officers found 15-year-old Prince Michael Banner shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
A GoFundMe for Prince said, “Prince Michael Banner was a 15-year-old young man who attended Stockdale High School as a sophomore. Excellent drummer, football player, and student, he was well-liked by peers and loved by family.”
Back in 2024, police identified Briseno Jr., who was 15 years old at the time of the incident, as the suspect accused of shooting the teen. He surrendered to the police two days later, but was released without charges…
