BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Six encampments on Union Avenue were cleared on Monday following several complaints from the community, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Officers with the BPD Impact Team, Bakersfield’s Code Enforcement Rapid Response Team and Animal Control Unit worked together to respond to “numerous complaints” about encampments in the 800 and 900 blocks of Union Avenue, according to officials.
Officials cleared six encampments, made five arrests for charges related to squatting and seized three dogs, police said.
