Coroner ID’s man shot after pursuit on Hwy 99 near Hwy 223

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a 58-year-old Castaic man who was shot after a pursuit with the highway patrol on Highway 99 early Monday morning.

Coroner officials said James Ellis Forrestal Peattie, 58, of Castaic was shot by officers just before 5:30 a.m. on Highway 99 and Highway 223. He died at the scene just before 6 a.m.
