Delano PD to conduct DUI checkpoint Friday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Delano Police Department said officers will conduct a DUI checkpoint Friday evening at an undisclosed location within city limits.

The department said officers will be out at a checkpoint checking for any signs of impairment by drivers from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Dec. 12. Checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing locations where DUI-related crashes happen, officials said.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Delano Officer Hector Diaz said in a statement. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”
