BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a woman who was found dead in a canal on Truxtun Avenue on May 17.
Coroner officials said Amanda Woods, 34, was found on May 17 around 7:15 a.m. It is unknown how long her body was in the canal.

On Dec. 1 she was “positively identified via DNA,” according to a coroner’s release. The cause and manner of Woods’ death are under investigation.
