‘It may just be a battle that we would not win’: Kern County Board of Education to table vote on Ten Commandments in schools for the foreseeable future

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — On the night of Nov. 14, more than 100 community members, parents and students packed the Kern County Board of Education’s board room with a crowd so big it filled up the overflow room.

After briefly calling the meeting to order, the board quickly retreated to closed session.For an hour, people patiently waited to discuss posting the Ten Commandments in schools.
