Bakersfield Family Welcomes Healthy Baby After Rare Medical Emergency in Los Angeles

At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the Lopez family from Bakersfield, California, recently experienced an unusual medical case. Suze Lopez, a 41-year-old emergency room nurse, was scheduled for surgery to remove a 22-pound ovarian cyst. During a routine pre-surgical pregnancy test, doctors discovered she was pregnant. This was unexpected due to her history of infertility and irregular periods.

Three days later, Suze told her husband, Andrew, about the pregnancy at a Dodgers baseball game. Soon after, she developed abdominal pain and went to Cedars-Sinai.
