Man sentenced to 8 years for threatening family in Lake Isabella home robbery: Records

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Herbert Brown, convicted of threatening a Lake Isabella family during a home robbery in April 2024, has been sentenced to eight years in state prison, according to the Kern County Superior Court website.

Brown was found convicted on Nov. 20, 2025, of first-degree residential burglary, first-degree robbery, vandalism exceeding $400, and resisting, obstructing, or delaying a peace officer. The court also upheld a prior robbery strike offense against him.

The incident occurred in the early hours of April 23, 2024. The district attorney’s office reported that Brown approached a woman outside her home, demanding keys to a family vehicle. When she refused, he threatened her with a metal bar. The woman retreated inside, waking her husband, but Brown forced entry by smashing a glass door with a rock. Once inside, he continued to threaten the family, including their children, before stealing the vehicle and causing further property damage…
