BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — We certainly had a busy and changeable week of weather across Kern County including back-to-back record-breaking weather days. Following weeks of chilly temperatures with Tule fog and cloud cover a major pattern change blew into the area with warm ahead of the storm. On Tuesday Bakersfield set a new record high temperature for the date of 74, breaking the old one of 73 which was set back in 1955.
The very next day the rains came in and Bakersfield went on to set a new record rainfall amount for that day of 0.97″, beating the old record of 0.75″ that was set back in 1994.
