All southbound and northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the Grapevine were closed for several hours Saturday afternoon after a gas line explosion, according to the California Highway Patrol and local news reports.
Severalnews outlets reported that a gas line explosion in the town of Castaic, north of Los Angeles, prompted authorities to close portions of I-5 near the Grapevine, a steep, curvy stretch of the freeway in Kern County.
