BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The city of Bakersfield announced the first large trash drop-off event of 2026.
Bakersfield’s Solid Waste Division is set to host the event from 8 a.m. to noon on Jan. 10 at the Bakersfield Municipal Airport at 2000 South Union Ave., according to city officials.
Trash tax smells potential trouble for rural Kern County residents
Accepted items include furniture, mattresses, box springs, major appliances, electronics (TVs, monitors, computers, printers etc.), water heaters and barbecue grills without propane tanks.
The event won’t accept propane tanks, construction materials and debris including concrete, all items with refrigerant, items over 300 pounds, household hazardous waste, liquid waste and hazardous materials, officials said…
