Rio Bravo Country Club’s temporary closure is fallout from breakdown of his marriage, owner says

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The temporary closure of one of Bakersfield’s premier country clubs has veered into the realm of the salacious with the owner accusing his estranged wife of destroying their marriage.

She, on the other hand, has taken to social media with scandalous and specific allegations. The drama threatens to cost dozens of employees their jobs and leaves hundreds of country club members in the lurch.

Rio Bravo Country Club, an upscale golf course at a picturesque western entrance to the southern Sierra Nevada, will remain closed for the foreseeable future, according to owner Jeremy Willer, who tells 17 News the lockout is the direct result of his shattered marriage. 17 News first reported the east Bakersfield country club’s closure on Monday.
