Man found competent in shooting near Kern County Fairgrounds

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man charged with attempted murder in a shooting near the Kern County Fairgrounds has been found competent to stand trial, according to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office.

Criminal proceedings were reinstated Wednesday against 19-year-old Thomas Deion Anderson, and he’s due back in court Feb. 4.

On the night of Sept. 22, a 19-year-old man was shot in the 1100 block of Terrace Way, police said. He drove to the 700 block of South P Street, where bystanders called for help.
