Man arrested after allegedly fatally shooting neighbor’s dog in Ridgecrest

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A 63-year-old man was arrested after allegedly shooting and killing a neighbor’s dog and after a search of his home uncovered other firearms in Ridgecrest, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 1500 block of North Alford Street in Ridgecrest around 12:50 p.m. on Jan. 2 for a report of animal cruelty.
