Despite a dense blanket of fog covering the Kern County Fairgrounds on January 16, the 20th Annual Kern County Spray Safe welcomed over 800 attendees, including farmers, farmworkers, and pesticide license/certificate holders.
The Spray Safe program was initiated in 2006 by Kern County farmers to reduce pesticide drift and ensure safety for farmworkers and the community. It is hosted by the Kern County Farm Bureau, which continues to support and promote the best practices in agricultural safety.
