BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 68-year-old Bakersfield resident who died after being unresponsive in a residential fire on Bernard Street was identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as Bharti Khatri.
The coroner’s report said on January 24, 2026, at around 6:14 a.m., Khatri was pronounced dead in the 300 block of Bernard Street after being found unresponsive in a residential fire.
