Los Angeles, CA Weather Alert: 45–55 MPH Wind Gusts Impact Mountain And Valley Roads Today

Southern California — Strong northeast winds associated with a Santa Ana wind event continue to impact much of Southern California, prompting multiple Wind Advisories across Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Kern Counties, according to the National Weather Service. These advisories remain in effect through Wednesday afternoon for coastal and valley areas, and through noon Thursday for inland valleys, mountain communities, and wind-prone passes.

Sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with widespread gusts up to 45 mph and isolated gusts reaching 55 mph, especially in mountain passes, foothills, and desert slopes. The strongest winds will impact locations such as the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning, Interstate 5 through the Grapevine, Highway 14, Highway 395, Highway 99, and Interstate 15, where hazardous crosswinds may develop suddenly…
