BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A Superior Court judge has denied a defense motion to postpone trial on a lawsuit — one that could potentially cost the city millions of dollars — alleging a Bakersfield police officer acted with negligence when his vehicle blew past a stop sign and crashed into another vehicle, killing its driver and seriously injuring a passenger.
During a hearing Tuesday, attorneys for the city accused Rodriguez & Associates — the law firm representing passenger Ana Hernandez and the family of Mario Lares — of hiding key evidence.
