Gusty showers and hail in Kern and Tulare Counties
The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement on Feb 17 for the south end of the Lower Sierra. Gusty showers are moving east at 40 mph through north central Kern County and south central Tulare County. Radar shows wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea-size hail near Ducor, about 8 miles northeast of Delano.
Areas affected include Terra Bella, Ducor, Richgrove, Uhl, and Fountain Springs. Winds may knock down small tree limbs and move loose items. Minor hail damage to plants is possible. Brief, weak funnel clouds could form, though they are usually harmless.
