Lawsuit filed against ex-KCSO detentions lieutenant charged with DUI hit-and-run

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The family injured in a hit-and-run crash in March filed a lawsuit against a former Kern County sheriff’s detentions lieutenant accused of causing the crash after driving drunk twice in one day.

Patrick Shawn McNeill was charged with multiple counts of driving under the influence causing injury, hit-and-run causing injury and misdemeanor resisting arrest in June, nearly three months after the crash.

His blood-alcohol content at the time was 0.31% — nearly four times the legal limit…
