Man killed in south Bakersfield shooting identified by coroner

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified a man killed in a south Bakersfield shooting that is believed to be connected to multiple shootings that occurred the same day in different parts of the city.

Francisco Camacho, 40, of Delano, was shot at around 11:10 a.m. Feb. 18 in the 6300 block of Chester W. Nimitz St., according to the coroner’s office. He was pronounced dead at the scene about 15 minutes later.

Camacho was killed in the first shooting that day, which was reported to the Bakersfield Police Department.

Shortly after that call, dispatchers received a report of another shooting victim near Golden Valley High School at Hosking Avenue and Shannon Drive. A third shooting victim was reported in the 4100 block of Pioneer Drive, according to police…
