BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Veterans Honor Guard is facing a serious shortage of members, raising concerns about whether it can continue providing full military funeral honors for veterans across Kern County.
As membership continues to drop, the future of military ceremonies at veterans’ final resting places in the county is uncertain.
Jose Lopez said, “There was a time when you had a full slate of veterans on him to provide these services, and now there’s only a handful.”
