Jon Tenney embraces ‘American Classic’ family

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Jon Tenney is known for a long list of television and film appearances including “The Closer,” “Tombstone,” “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “Scandal.” Although he’s known best for his work on the small and large screens, Tenney’s launch as a professional actor was on the stage.

His debut was in a touring production on “The Real Thing.” That was followed by numerous appearances in production on and off Broadway plus in regional theater. That is why his casting in the new MGM+ series “American Classic” resonates so deeply with the New Jersey native.

“American Classic” tells the story of Broadway star Richard Bean (Kevin Kline) who finds himself in the middle of a public relations nightmare after a very public meltdown.
