Man accused of killing son in fight over electric bill takes plea deal

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man accused of killing his adult son in a drunken fight over an electric bill pleaded no contest Wednesday to voluntary manslaughter.

Jose Guadalupe Preciado entered the no contest plea in exchange for a 21-year prison term. Murder and other charges were dismissed.

He’s scheduled to be sentenced April 2.
