BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Maya Hernandez, the mother convicted in the hot car death of her son, was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday.
On a hot June day, 20-year-old Maya Hernandez shut the door of her car, ultimately shutting the door on her one year old son’s life.
1-year-old Amilio Gutierrez and two-year-old Mateo Gutierrez were left in a hot car while Hernandez got a cosmetic procedure in south Bakersfield.
