Bakersfield runner finishes first in women’s marathon, Central Coast runner wins men’s race

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Rabecca Kirkham was the first to finish the women’s Bakersfield Marathon, according to preliminary times posted on the marathon’s website.

Kirkham, from Bakersfield, finished the full marathon at 3 hours, 12 minutes and 16 seconds on the clock, officials said. Lourdes Sanchez, of Lamont, finished at 3 hours, 32 minutes and 13 seconds. Maria Arredondo, of Wasco, finished the 26.2-mile race at 3 hours, 36 minutes and 11 seconds.

Nick Stice, of San Luis Obispo, won the men’s full marathon race with a time of 2 hours, 41 minutes and 4 seconds, according to the marathon site. Ivan Morales, of Clovis, completed the race at 2 hours, 45 minutes and 43 seconds. Kevin Cicchini, of Oak Park, completed the race in 2 hours, 51, minutes and 29 seconds.

Andrew Walgren, of Morro Bay, finished first in the men’s half marathon with a time of 1 hour, 13 minutes and 7 seconds. Diana Barron, of Shafter, completed the women’s half marathon in 1 hour, 23 minutes and 19 seconds, according to the marathon website…
