Public listening sessions for Kern County’s Child Protective Services feedback scheduled in April

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Department of Human Services announced three public listening sessions to receive feedback from community members who have interacted with the county’s Child Protective Services.

Input gathered at the sessions will help the department and its partners to identify the strengths and gaps in its system, officials said.

The events are as follows:

  • Thursday, April 16: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall at 1900 Baker St., Bakersfield
  • Friday, April 17: 10 a.m. to noon at the Red Roof Inn at 1050 N. Norma St., Ridgecrest
  • Friday, April 17: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mojave Veterans Building at 15580 O St., Mojave

All sessions will be in English and Spanish and food will be offered, according to officials. Registration is not required.
