Criticism made over connections between Kern County DA and proposed provider at Family Justice Center

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer’s request to change victim service providers has brought criticism of connections between Zimmer, the new provider and Zimmer’s nephew, former Kern County supervisor Zack Scrivner.

After Bakersfield Recovery Services was announced to be the new service provider, social media backlash has been focused on the connections between the major players in the deal.

It starts at the top with District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer. Her office houses the Family Justice Center and, after her office fired The Open Door Network, Zimmer announced she wants Bakersfield Recovery Services as the new provider.
