(KBAK/KBFX) Accusations of sexual abuse involving labor leader Cesar Chavez are prompting communities across California to reconsider the names of streets and schools that honor him, including in Delano, where the local school board voted 3-2 to change the name of Cesar E. Chavez High School.
Before the Delano school board voted on whether to move forward with a name change, community members were given a chance to weigh in.
Nearly 20 people spoke during the meeting, with opinions split on how quickly the district should act.
