BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Evidence that Bakersfield is growing to the east and especially to the west becomes more apparent day by day. Commercial development is perhaps the most visible indicator. Here’s another small but telling smidgeon of proof of that growth.
The Shops at Riverwalk, a linear outdoor mall on Stockdale Highway almost a mile in length, is getting new, upscale tenants. But not in existing buildings — in new construction, which you may have noticed. Bo Lundy, president of JBL Commercial Group, told 17 News that the freestanding structure right behind BJ’s Brewhouse will be home to a new Lululemon athleisure clothing store and a J.Crew casual wear store.

Lululemon, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, has more than 750 stores in the U.S., Canada, China and Europe. J.Crew, based in New York City, has 450 stores in the U.S.
This was great news for one shopper, who happened to be decked out in Lululemon yoga garb when she walked into a Sephora cosmetics store, which will be Lulu’s neighbor…
