Kern County Superior Court to host informational sessions about judicial careers in Mojave, Ridgecrest

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern County Superior Court announced a series of “Pathways to the Bench” informational sessions in the coming months meant to help those in east Kern who are interested in pursuing a judicial career.

Presiding Judge John W. Lua, Assistant Presiding Judge Christie Norris and East Kern Supervising Judge Lisa Pacione are set to attend the sessions, according to the court.

Three sessions are scheduled as below:

  • Tuesday, May 12: Mojave Superior Court at 1773 CA-58 BUS, noon – 1:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 10: Ridgecrest Superior Court at 132 E. Coso Ave., noon – 1:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Aug. 10: Mojave Superior Court at 1773 CA-58 BUS, 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The program is designed to give an overview of the judicial application and vetting process, everyday responsibilities of judicial officers and perspectives from members of the bench, organizers said.
