ADAKC cutting adult day program, replacing with program to help larger community

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County has announced it will no longer provide an adult daycare program. The program, which has seen hundreds of people within the building’s walls, is going away, much to caregivers’ dismay. But it’s not all bad news.

ADAKC is effectively shutting its doors on the adult day program which helps so many families with loved ones with Alzheimer’s.

The adult day program is essentially a daycare for those with the disease — a private-pay model — and supports 20 to 25 participants per day and 100 per year.
