U-Haul still missing weeks after online rental tied to alleged identity theft: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Bakersfield Police is asking for help in identifying a suspect connected to a U-Haul and identity theft from late March.

The incident dates back to March 23, 2026, when the suspect rented a U-Haul truck through an online application, and in the rental process, the suspect provided a copy of a California Driver’s License and a still photograph of herself.

The U-Haul truck has not yet been returned as of April 9, 2026. An investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly used another person’s identity to rent the vehicle…
