UPDATE (9:39 P.M., APRIL 10): Officials with the Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirm they are investigating a deputy-involved shooting in that area and that is why the highway closed.
They also confirmed that no officers or deputies were injured during the incident.
The roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours as the investigation continues…
