BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Police Department, along with several agencies, recently conducted a clean-up operation targeting homeless encampments in the area north of the Kern River embankment and east of Chester Avenue, extending toward Manor Street.
The operation follows BPD’s Community Vitality Unit, which received numerous complaints about the area.
Three people were arrested, one was cited, and three dogs were seized and taken to the City of Bakersfield Animal Shelter. Six encampments were cleaned up, and 26.32 tons of trash were picked up.
