Kern County deputies arrest New Cuyama man after copper wire seized in Maricopa raid

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — A search warrant served in Maricopa led to the seizure of about 50 pounds of copper wire and the arrest of a 68-year-old New Cuyama man, Kern County deputies said.

On April 29, 2026, deputies from the Taft substation and detectives with the Rural Crimes Investigation Unit (RCIU) executed a search warrant in the 400 block of Helen Street in Maricopa.
