BALTIMORE (WBFF) — As Baltimore City’s Office of Inspector General answered questions about the proposed budget, Mayor Brandon Scott’s administration is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the city’s watchdog amid the escalating tensions between the two offices.
Inspector General Isabel Cumming did not attend Thursday’s hearing due to illness, a decision that frustrated some councilmembers. Deputy Inspector General Matt Neil presented the agency’s budget request and outlined the office’s recent work.
According to the OIG, the office identified more than $10.9 million in savings, waste, or recoverable funds during fiscal year 2025.
