Towson High student named one of 20 USA Biolympiad National Finalists

TOWSON, MD—A Towson High School sophomore has been named one of only 20 national finalists in the 2026 USA Biolympiad, school officials announced this week.

Vishvak Gernapudi, a 10th-grade student in the law and public policy program at Towson High, will advance to the national finals held at Harvard University this summer.

The USA Biolympiad is widely recognized as the premier biology competition for high school students in the United States, drawing thousands of participants from across the country. Gernapudi earned his finalist spot after surviving multiple rounds of elimination. Out of more than 6,000 students who took the initial open exam, only the top 10 percent moved on to the semifinal exam, from which the 20 national finalists were ultimately chosen…
